A five star rating is not enough for this home.  A more appropriate rating would be a positive one from every star  in the galaxy.  This is an adult family home with an emphasis on family.  I can feel the atmosphere that my husband is cared for and loved the minute I walk in the door.  Every attention to detail is given in his care.  Teddy is always on top of  any medical care needed.  Safety is always a. Part of the  whole package.  Every effort is made to to make sure my husband is comfortable  and. Happy there.  He feels that he is listened to  The staff and owner are wonderful people who work together as a team and truly care about every person there.  Nutritious meals are provided.  My husband says they are super cooks.  Activities that strengthen muscles are made to be fun.  Communication is excellent.  My husband says was in the hospital over Memorial Day Day weekend.  There was a problem.  I called Teddy.  Who answers the phone  when they are with family on a holiday?  Teddy does.  He not only answered the phone but came to the hospital and straightened things out.  Both my sons who live out of state came up and visited the home. We are very happy with the care our good friend is receiving at AVID Adult Family Home. It is a very lovely home. The staff is warm, caring and helpful if you have any concerns. My friend was very sick when she arrived at AVID, and has now been there for 2 years and is doing well. She thinks the world of Teddy and he is very good to her. I went to visit my grandma the other day and left feeling so thankful. The moment I walked in, I could see the staff were truly present with the residents not just going through the motions. My mom was relaxed, smiling, and clearly comfortable. It’s rare to find a place where the people genuinely care, but here it feels like family. When I stopped by to see my mom, I noticed how relaxed and happy everyone seemed. The staff were chatting and laughing with the residents while making sure everyone had what they needed.
